The SWT-3.3-130, a 3.3MW machine with a 130-metre-diameter rotor, is built around the German OEM’s direct-drive D3 product platform and features a reworked generator, hub, nacelle, yaw drive and cooling system
“In our new model we have once again maximised the performance reserves which Siemens’ D3 platform offers with its direct-drive PMG [permanent-magnet generator],” says Siemens head of R&D Morten Pilgaard Rasmussen.
“We are able to offer a highly attractive solution for sites with low wind speeds which will set whole new standards for economic efficiency, energy yield and reliability.”
