The German industrial giant, which previously has develped all its blades itself, has created a 69-metre rotor blade based on hybrid-carbon technology for the new machine, in co-operation with LM.

Production of the blades initially will come from LM manufacturing facilities in Europe, probably in Poland, Richterich said.

But the two companies are looking into different options for additional factories in other countries, preferably those that have strict local-content rules that otherwise render the sale of turbines more difficult.
