The 270MW wind farm will be built 8km off the UK coast, near Skegness, with construction beginning in the late summer this year, and first generation scheduled for 2012. Siemens is supplying 75 3.6MW turbines for the project.
The grid connection contract involves the supply of an offshore substation, which will bundle the power from the wind farm before it is transported via a high voltage subsea cables to the mainland.
