French energy group Areva - which owns 50% of Adwen – has not decided what to do with its stake, and this is the only factor preventing a conclusion of the main deal, said Reuters.
Gamesa owns the other 50% of Adwen, which was formed by the two companies last year to pool their interests in offshore wind.
Areva is hovering between buying out Gamesa to create a French offshore wind champion and selling its share altogether, said Reuters, citing three unnamed sources close to the negotiations.
