As expected, the two set out a string of areas in which the two businesses complement each other – adding up to what Gamesa chief executive Ignacio Martín claimed is an “unquestionable rationale” for the deal and Siemens CEO Joe Kaeser called "a perfect fit".
They included Gamesa’s position in emerging markets such as China, India and Mexico, where Siemens has a negligible presence.
