The industrial giant will supply and install 10 of its 3MW SWT-3.9-113 turbines to Windpark Bassens I, a citizens’ wind company in Wangerland in Lower Saxony state.
The turbines will be commissioned during the coming winter, said Siemens, which also won a 15-year service contract.
The 10 new Siemens turbines replace 34 old 600kW machines dating back to 1996-1997, while three turbines from 2006 with a combined capacity of 4MW will remain.
