The total investment by Electranova Capital, launched in May by EDF with Allianz and Idinvest Partners, was not disclosed but the fund has a "minimum investment capacity" of €60m ($77.8m).

Seatower, partered with Nordic construction and engineering outfit MT Højgaard, is developing a self-installing gravity foundation concept, called Cranefree, for large deep-water wind farms off Europe.

The Electranova Capital fund has also invested in a French grid specialist Actility, which has developed a communication platform for remote control of electrical appliances such as computers, thermostats and security sensors in “smart homes”.
