The test facility at Hunterston, North Ayrshire, which will be owned by the utility SSE, was consented earlier this year. But until now it had not been clear whether the development agency Scottish Enterprise, which oversees the N-RIF, would contribute.
The government has confirmed that two of the three testing berths will be occupied by Siemens and Mitsubishi. The remaining berth, according to Scottish Enterprise, will be leased to a turbine maker with “firm plans to invest in the Scottish offshore wind supply chain”.
