Wheelhouse says the decision to scrap DECC has led to concerns about May’s commitment to supporting renewables and tackling climate change.
The Scottish government was already working to safeguard key renewables projects, amid the uncertainty created by the UK’s referendum decision to leave the EU.
The axed DECC has been merged with Business, Innovation and Skills to establish the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy as part of last week’s cabinet reshuffle.
