The partners gave the green light for construction to start after wrapping up C$580m ($517m) of construction and term-loan financing from 10 institutions.

The wind farm in the Township of Kincardine will use SWT-2.3-101 Siemens turbines, with blades and towers produced in Ontario by the German group’s own blade plant and CS Wind respectively.

The contract includes a three-year service agreement.

Armow is due to be completed in the fourth quarter of next year.
