The affected turbine was installed by Bonus Energy in 2002, a manufacturer acquired by Siemens in 2004.

The nacelle, hub and blades of the turbine fell into the water last Saturday, Siemens said in a statement sent to Recharge. No one was injured.

"As a precautionary measure, the customer had initially taken the remaining nine turbines at the Samsø offshore wind farm out of operation until physical inspections could be conducted," Siemens said.
