The German renewables developer said a Fugro OCEANOR floating wind measurement platform deployed for more than six months last year in conjunction with the Eneco Luchterduinen offshore wind farm had “demonstrably fulfilled the requirements with regard to availability and accuracy”.
The system proved effective at supplying wind and wave measurements when compared with a traditional fixed met-mast at the same site, said Dutch energy group Eneco, which now plans to install the Fugro OCEANOR device at the site of the Navitus Bay wind farm it is co-developing off southern England.
