Hans Bunting, RWE Innogy chief executive, says it had put on hold plans to invest up to £800m in 10 to 12 proposed onshore wind farms in Scotland and Wales,  totalling about 460MW, while it waits to hear whether the government will continue to support UK onshore wind.

The wind farms placed on hold are in addition to nine onshore projects in England, with a potential investment of £250m, which the developer scrapped last October.
