The companies plan to upgrade southern port on the island and construct three service buildings on a site of 10,000 m2.

"Heligoland would be the first island in the German North and Baltic Sea to benefit on such a scale from the development of offshore wind power,” says Jörg Singer, Mayor of Heligoland municipality.

Construction of the base will be built by newly founded port operator Hafenbetriebsgesellschaft Heligoland (HGH), and that planning applications will be completed by the end of the summer.
