RES Americas, a subsidiary of privately owned UK-based developer Renewable Energy Systems, did not say whether it intends to own the project or sell it after construction.

The Deerfield project – located in Michigan’s “thumb” region, and due online in late 2016 – will become the second wind plant for which Wolverine takes the full output.

Wolverine, which delivers power to its seven small electricity-retailing customers, also takes the output from the nearby 53MW Harvest project, which became Michigan's first commercial-scale wind farm in 2007.
