Germany-based REpower is majority-owned by Suzlon, and the Indian wind group is in the final stages of a legal process to buy the handful of remaining shares in its subsidiary it does not already own.
While the two parties are keen to stress that the move is a local arrangement, the choice of the REpower brand for the ongoing Australian business will be noted with interest ahead of Suzlon’s assumption of full control of its German division.
