The three ‘6M’ turbines, installed at an onshore wind farm near Westre, Germany, each have a rotor diameter of 126 metres, making them some of the largest turbines in operation in the world.

Transportation is the biggest challenge when dealing with turbines of that size. The nacelles were manufactured at REpower’s facility in Bremerhaven, Germany, before being shipped less than 150 kilometres to Dagebüll.
