US Wind is a subsidiary of Italian renewables developer Renexia – which itself is part of Italy’s Toto Holding conglomerate, with business units spanning construction, transportation, aviation and other infrastructure-related sectors.
Incorporated less than three years ago, Renexia is a relative unknown outside of Italy, where it has completed a few dozen megawatts of ground-mount PV and onshore wind capacity.
Renexia bid in an earlier US competitive lease auction for offshore wind zones off the coast of Rhode Island and Massachusetts, but lost to rival developer Deepwater Wind.
