The wholesale price in Germany fell by 12% to an annual average of €33 ($37) per MWh, TenneT's annual market review of the European electricity market finds.
That is less than in neighbouring France, Belgium and the Netherlands, where annual averages ranged between €40 and €50.
Energy minister Sigmar Gabriel also said today that basic supply electricity prices for German consumers since the beginning of this year have fallen by an average €0.03
