National power company Energía Argentina Sociedad Anónima (Enarsa) is analysing 1.5 gigawatts (GW) worth of renewable energy up for contract, of which 1.25GW would be generated at 29 wind farms proposed by nine developers.

But prices are not the only factor the government will consider when it awards the 15-year contracts. It has created a formula that also takes into account construction time and the proportion of Argentine components that will be used in building wind farms.
