The opposition Labor Party made the latest move in the saga by backing plans to reset the RET to a goal of 33.5 terawatt hours of production by 2020, down from the existing target of 41TWh, after previously opposing such a steep cut to the policy it introduced while in government.
That brings Labor into line with a wider group of businesses and sector bodies supporting a compromise deal at 33.5TWh,
