Adverse policy factors mean onshore wind prices are still higher in France than elsewhere in Europe – despite the reductions seen in the country’s first tender – said European industry body WindEurope.

The French government said on Thursday that 508MW across 22 projects successfully bid in the tender at an average weighted price of €65.4/MWh ($79.8/MWh).

That was down from the €72/MWh existing tariff for smaller wind projects and the €82/MWh feed-in tariff previously on offer, said WindEurope.
