The report by the Warsaw-based Institute forRenewable Energy, Germany’s aeronautics and space research centre DLR, the European Renewable Energy Council, theGlobal Wind Energy Council and Greenpeace estimates that Poland could halve itsdemand for coal while creating 100,000 new jobs with a shift to wind, solar, hydro, biomass and geothermal by 2030.
However, this scenario would require aninvestment of $264bn, double the $132bn cost of business as usual.
