Dong and consultancy ESG carried out what was billed as “one of the most comprehensive pile testing campaigns ever undertaken” as part of the Pile Soil Analysis (PISA) joint industry project.
The partners tested 28 piles at two onshore sites in the UK and France that closely replicate surface-soil conditions in the North Sea.
They were assessing a new design method developed by PISA’s academic group, led by Oxford University.
