The JIP, made up RWE Innogy, Bilfinger, Dong, EnBW, E.ON and Vattenfall, reports results from a land-based testing programme of the technique – a common method used in civil engineering to drive in piles – "have been very positive", with much lower peak noise emissions than the hydraulic hammering currently used to fix foundations to the seabed and up to ten times faster.
