So far, the North American yieldco sector has not seen the 2016 rebound it was hoping for. Shares of most renewables yieldcos fell sharply in the second half of 2015, caused in large part by depressed oil prices.
Shares of Pattern Energy, which owns 2.3GW of wind capacity across North and South America, are down another 23% since the beginning of 2016 – leaving the yieldco with a painfully high dividend yield of 9.2%.
