The Canadian province will kick off a Request for Qualifications process by 1 August, with the aim of bringing another 930MW of renewables capacity onto the grid. Wind and solar will take home the lion’s share, and hydro and bioenergy the remainder.
Contracts for winning projects in the LRP II round will be issued by May 2018.
However, Ontario no longer has plans for a third LRP round, the government says.
