The Cuyahoga County Department of Development (CCDD) in early August sought proposals for geotechnical services that would have included test borings, soil samplings and analysis in the lake’s sediment. The deadline was 22 August with surveying work planned for September. The county would have paid the contractor.
CCDD decided to shelve the work until next year at the behest of lawyers there who raised questions about the document’s wording, as well as for unspecified weather-related reasons.
