The commissioning of the Amrumbank West and Humber Gateway offshore wind farms drove adjusted pre-tax profits (Ebit) up to €167m ($190m) in the January to March period from €112m in 2015’s first quarter, partly offset by divestments in Italy and Spain.
Overall Ebit in E.ON’s Renewables division fell by almost one-third to €238m, as hydropower earnings dipped sharply.
E.ON expects full-year Renewables Ebit to come in “significantly” above the 2015 figure of €400m as Amrumbank West and Humber Gateway deliver a complete year’s earnings.
