Christie’s decision could be a make-or-break moment for Fishermen’s proposed 24MW Atlantic City project, which has the potential to become the second offshore wind farm in US waters, and hand Siemens its first offshore order in the US.
In order for the Atlantic City project to go forward, New Jersey’s Board of Public Utilities (BPU) must “open a window” allowing the developer to apply again for state subsidies – in this case, Offshore Renewable Energy Credits.
