The €11m ($12.2m) Foresea — Funding Ocean Renewable Energy through Strategic European Action — scheme, which brings together Emec in Scotland, SmartBay in Ireland, SEM-REV in France and the Tidal Testing Centre in the Netherlands, aims to get advanced-stage marine technologies to commercialisation.
Foresea test centres, which will be supported by Brussels-based industry body Ocean Energy Europe (OEE), will offer funding and business development support packages to promising concepts that need "real-sea, grid-connected conditions" to leverage further investment to get their product to market.
