Nordex claims 7% US market share after Acciona WindPower merger

German wind turbine maker Nordex at the beginning of this year grid-connected two wind farms in the US with a combined capacity of 137.5MW, and said it has reached a market share of 7% in the country following the merger with Acciona Windpower (AWP).

For the larger of the two developments, Montana Dakota Energy's 107.5MW Thunder Spirit wind farm in North Dakota, Nordex had supplied some of the components well before construction work started and therefore qualified for a production tax credit of 2.3 cents per kilowatt hour.

Nordex supplied 43 of its N100/2500 turbines for the wind park, and delivered another 12 machines of the same type for Exelon's Fair Wind project in Maryland.
