Although wind developers registered 17GW of projects for the auction, they were ultimately put off by unfavourable auction and market conditions, and the anticipation of better opportunities in auctions scheduled for later in 2016.
The tender resulted in Brazil contracting power from 29 projects with a combined capacity 340.5MW. Small hydro and biomass projects accounted for most of the power sold.
