Nexans will provide four 150 kV XLPE submarine cables, each 53km – 54km in length to connect London Array to the UK power grid. Nexans will deliver two of the cables in 2011, and two in 2012, all being delivered from Nexans’ factory in Halden. The cables will also incorporate fibre optic elements manufactured at the Nexans factory in Rognan, Norway.
Nexans wins €100m contract to supply London Array cables
Nexans, the world’s biggest cable maker, has won a €100m contract to supply the high voltage subsea power export cables for the London Array project, which will be the world’s biggest offshore wind farm.
