“I’m confident the tender will go forward,” Jean-Frédérick Legendre, regional director for Quebec at the Canadian Wind Energy Association, tells Recharge. Marois will become the first woman premier in Quebec and next week is expected to form a government that will need to sign a decree to authorize the tender.
Legendre notes that wind energy was not an issue in the election campaign in which Marois, leader of the separatist Parti Quebecois, narrowly defeated Liberal Premier Jean Charest on 4 September by 31.9%
