Developer Mainstream Renewable Power (MRP) has launched a financing and investment arm to underpin build-out of its 9GW international wind and solar power project portfolio.

The new unit, Mainstream Renewable Capital, which will be led by veteran energy banker James McGinnis (pictured), aims to offer “bespoke” investment in projects that “span a range of technologies, geographies and time-lines giving investors rich possibilities to find the investment opportunity that best suits their risk appetite and term preferences”.

“Forming our own financing and investment arm has been in the planning for some time now,” says MRP chief executive Eddie O’Connor.
