UK developer Infinergy hailed the decision, embraced by Scottish Energy Minister Fergus Ewing, to approve a six-turbine extension at its Lochluichart project, which supposedly will be visible from the peak of Ben Wyvis mountain in the Scottish Highlands.
The approval comes despite the extension having received 124 objections – including from the Mountaineering Council of Scotland – and only 9 notifications of support in a public inquiry.
