MidAmerican did not mention a turbine supplier for the Wind XI project in a press release. However, it has consistently awarded orders this decade to Siemens as part of an ongoing wind expansion in its home state of Iowa.
Such an order would give the German OEM a huge boost in the booming US wind market where it fell to third place in 2015 behind long-time leader General Electric and a resurgent Vestas.
