The unexpected changes – announced two days after the original results were released – resulted in a greater number of winning bidders and higher average prices, but similar amounts of power contracted and clean-energy certificates (CELs) sold.
A total of 2.1GW new capacity from 15 projects will now be needed to supply the power contracted.
The government said it will confirm the auction results late Thursday, and the winning bidders will have until 12 July to sign 15-year PPAs that will start in 2018.
