US Wind, owned by Renexia of Italy, contracted with Alpine Ocean Seismic Survey and their vessel R/V Shearwater to conduct data collection along a proposed 35-mile route from the project site through Indian River Bay to the power grid near Millsboro, Delaware.
Both Maryland and Delaware belong to PJM Interconnection, which operates a regional grid that supplies electricity to all or parts of 13 states and the District of Columbia.
