The UK onshore wind sector has faced an unprecedented wave of policy setbacks in recent months, with the newly-elected Conservative government setting out to make good on its promise to “halt the spread” of onshore turbines.
But while measures such as withdrawal of support and tighter planning rules have created most headlines in relation to their impact on larger projects, Britain’s small-scale wind sector is worried as well.
