Seoul-based LG Chem will supply lithium-ion batteries for the project.
The two companies will install the system — which will offer 50MWh of storage capacity, or enough to cater to the needs of 5,000 homes — in Yeongyang, Gyeongsangbuk province.
GS E&R connected wind turbines to the provincial grid in September, according to a statement on LG Chem’s website.
However, neither company has revealed additional details about the wind farm.
