The utility did not provide financial details of its 20-year transactions with NextEra Energy Resources, developer of the 200MW Osborn project east of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Tradewind Energy and its 300MW Rock Creek wind farm near Tarkio, Missouri.
Osborn is due to enter commercial operation in the fourth quarter and Rock Creek by September 2017. They will increase the KCP&L’s wind portfolio to 1.7GW.
