Kansas is among the biggest success stories in the US wind market, with the percentage of wind in the state's generation mix rising from 8% in 2011 to nearly 24% last year, leaving it second only to Iowa and South Dakota.
"The 2016 number will be much higher, well over 30%," Brownback said Tuesday, speaking at ACORE's Renewable Energy Finance Forum in New York City.
