“To hit 36GW, we need to take a big leap,” JWPA president Manabu Takamoto at the World Smart Energy Week (WSEW) conference in Tokyo this week.
Japan installed just 244MW of wind in 2015, bringing nationwide, cumulative installed capacity to about 3.1GW at present, according to JWPA data.
“We haven’t done well enough so far,” Takamoto lamented. “Investment is still limited in Japan.
