NEDO — an industrial R&D entity under the Japanese government — will help conglomerate Marubeni and construction firm Obayashi with the development of a 170MW project off the port of Noshiro, Akita prefecture.
Separately, it has also vowed to help Tokyo-based Green Power Investment — a unit of Pattern Energy — with the development of 100MW of wind capacity off the coast of Ishikari, on the island of Hokkaido.
