Enel is reabsorbing its Enel Green Power (EGP) subsidiary and wants renewables to be the “engine of future growth” – the vast majority of which will come outside Europe in markets such as Latin America and India.
But CEO Francesco Starace said Enel might see opportunities after 2017 in Britain depending on factors such as the outcome of the referendum on EU membership, and the future direction of German utilities that have major interests in the UK energy market.
