Ireland currently has 1,085MW of installed wind capacity, with nearly 4 gigawatts set to come on line in the next few years.

Ireland sets new record for wind-energy production
On 31 July the Republic of Ireland saw a record 39% of its electricity demand met through wind power, according to new figures from EirGrid, with output peaking at 999 megawatts (MW) -- or enough to supply 650,000 Irish homes.
