Infinis said it expects to start producing power from Galawhistle by November 2016 after agreeing the £83m ($128.6m) finance package with Santander and Barclays.
The developer has signed a firm order with Vestas over turbines and maintenance,a s well striking a power-purchase agreement (PPA) with utility Npower for the wind farm’s output.
Infinis said the project will be turned on under the UK’s existing renewables obligation (RO) support mechanism, which as things stand is set to end in April 2017 as the country transitions to its new contracts-for-difference (CfD)-bsed regime.
