Chalasani is a former CEO of India’s Reliance Power and most recently held the top job at engineering conglomerate Punj Lloyd. He joins Suzlon today.
Rechargereported in late March that Chalasani was being linked with the Suzlon role.
Suzlon chairman and founder Tulsi Tanti has historically held the post of managing director at the company. He will retain his roles on the company's supervisory board but will step back from his current level of day-to-day operational involvement, Suzlon's group head of communications told Recharge.
